Riptide's ravings aside, SE originally stood for Special Edition and usually entailed a few upgrades. The 1970 Challenger SEs, for example, had a panel mounted on the interior of the roof that that had lights giving different information and, for some reason, had a smaller rear window than did the conventional models. For the 09s, though, I haven't seen that SE actually stands for anything.
