RE: Challenger Merchandise
one thing..i collect dodge mirada stuff. when hot wheels offered the "mirada stocker" in 1980, most people probably didnt even know what it was...there was nothing special about the car then or now, except to myself, and other mirada or hot wheel collectors. today, the mirada stock, mint on mint card, may go for as high as 40-50 bucks on ebay...many of them have the original store price tag on them...typically 49-99 cents...and if you get into old cars, like the redlines, the prices are unbelievable!
My goal is to acquire every mirada item available back then. thus far, we have about 30 loose mirada stockers, 7 or so mint on mint card, 4 or 5 mint on card, the original car and driver introducing the mirada review (in which it was pitted against the 80 supra!) a few other loose articles, a hot wheels lunchbox thermos which has the mirada stocker on it, and a hot wheels carrying case with the mirada stocker. the two items which we are missing are the mysterious blue mirada (the stockers were only sold in red, gold, and yellow, but this all blue mirada stocker came in one of those track play sets), and the hot wheels "Stocker" coloring book. Ive never seen the coloring book, but i have spoken to someone who has, and it had the mirada on the cover, with "many mirada pictures inside". ive never seen it, and i feel that this wil be by far the most difficult to obtain.
i actually know a few other mirada collectors, all of which have modified miradas....so, we put together a nice looking little spare room full of cars from various stores, and we typically dont spend more than 10 bucks a piece, even on the bigger cars...and down the road, they will gain value, and who knows what will end up being "the next redline".
