Default Triple Treat- Motor Trend Review

The December 2008 issue of Motor Trend compared the SRT, R/T and SE Challengers. The article was entiled, "Triple Treat- Dodge Challenges the Neo-Ponycar Class with Three Retro Clydesdales."

Here are the specs on the three models:

SE

0-60 mph= 7.3 sec.
1/4 mile= 15.6 sec. @90.3 mph
Braking= 130 ft.
Lateral Accel.= .83g
Weight= 3,712 lbs. (54/46%)
Trans.= 4-speed auto.
Mileage= 17/25 mpg

R/T

0-60 mph= 5.1 sec.
1/4 mile= 13.6 sec. @104.9 mph
Braking= 135 ft.
Lateral Accel.= .82g
Weight= 4,154 lbs. (53/47%)
Trans.= 6-speed manual
Mileage= 16/25 mpg

SRT

0-60 mph= 4.6 sec. manual; 4.7 sec. auto.
1/4 mile= 13.1 sec. @108.4 mph; 13.1 sec. @108.3 sec.
Braking= 121 ft. manual; 117 ft. auto.
Lateral Accel.= .83g
Weight= 4,146 lbs. (55/45%) manual; 4,137 lbs. (55/45%) auto.
Trans.= 6-speed manual; 5-speed auto.
Mileage= 14/22 mpg manual; 13/19 mpg auto.

What surprised me was the almost identical performance times of the manual and auto SRTs.
