The 6 speed Challenger Trak Pack is simply awesome. The smoothness of the shifts and the ease of the clutch pressure is very refined. It makes the Mustang GT 5 speed manual feel extremely primitive.
I don't mean to step in anyone's tail here, especially on a Challenger Forum, but I respectfully disagree. I'm not saying that the Challenger shifter is bad for stock, but I don't think it as much better than Mustang's and the Mustang's has been around for a while.
I feel the Stock Mustang GT 5 speed and clutch are comparable in feel to the Challenger 6 speed and clutch. Both stock clutches feel way soft and engagment leaves something to be desired. Both stock shifters feel flimsy, which is why I replaced my Mustang's stock shifter with an MGW. Compared to the MGW, both stock shifters in the Challenger and the Mustang feel like wet noodles, or at least a fresh piece of licorice.
The actual shifting in the Challenger does seem fairly smooth for a tight pattern necessary for 6 gears plus reverse, probably due to the centering springs in the Challengers stock shifter compared to no centering springs in the stock Mustang shifter.
And the Challenger 6 speed trans should feel good, considering it is derived to handle the Viper, Corvette and Shelby GT500 Mustang.
