Default RE: New General Lee Challenger

ORIGINAL: 108Challenger

Hey i grew up watching that show, im in the procces now of buying a 69 fully restored charger in the general lee badges and colors/wheels. Its a full replica car of the lee 1 fromt the first episode. Also looking for a 58 fury(christine) and am restoring a 63 bettle to resemble the herbie goes bananas herbie with the goodyear tires and wide wheels. I love movie cars and tv cars its my dream to own almost all my fav ones.
I too was bit by the movie/TV car bug...I brought my first car (a 1966 Charger) after seeing reruns of the old movie "Thunder Alley"....but I found out that George Barris was much better at creating movie cars than I was.....but still had fun with it....I would love to try building another "Thunder Charger" in the future...many years ago I talked with the then present owner...sounded like it wasn't in the best of shape, but it may still be out there somewhere.
Nothing wrong with making a "General Lee"...I am just a bit jaded as I have seen so many in the past. The only thing I have against the show, is the number of Chargers they destroyed while filming the series.
By the way I had an Orange 69 RT/SE Charger, with tan interior long before the Duke boys had theirs.
My Charger was sitting on the Downey Dodge used car lot and sported a custom paint job and half-vinyl top by...you guessed it..George Barris. When I returned the paint had been changed to overall orange with no flames...and I purchased it on the spot. (Still have the Barris Kustom City emblems and half-vinyl top chrome off the car)
