RE: INSTALLED MOPAR CAI TODAY
Do the instructions indicate it requires re-tuning?
I read somewhere that these engines use Speed Density calculations for air/fuel management and are much more forgiving to CAIs than Ford's Mass Air Flow methods which require a re-tune if the CAI is even slightly bigger in intereior diameter than stock.
I also read that the engine will "learn" the new airflow and compensate for it by dialing things back to nearly within spec without a seperate tuner. So HP gains will be greater immediately following the CAI install than after a few more runs.
Give the car a few more drives and see how it is.
It also could be better "inhaling" is aiding better "exhaling" from your HEMI. I noticed a slightly louder exhaust after installing a CAI on my Mustang a few years ago.
