Default RE: 2009 Dodge Ram Hemi 5.7L, Why...

ORIGINAL: TaylorSF

does it put out 390 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque when the Challenger R/T gets 370 or 372 hp in the auto and 375 in the manual. Is is just a different tune? Does it require premium instead of mid grade.

I would love 390 crank HP in my R/T.
Reminds me of when the 94 Mustangs came out, the first change from the boxy Fox Mustang. Same engine but less HP. Turns out underhood height restrictions on the newer body style required a shorter intake with shorter and more compact runners, resulting in fewer ponies.

Maybe the same situation here, trucks have more room for different (taller) upper intake manifolds.
