Default RE: 600 hp Supercharged SRT

As of last Friday it now has over 800Hp to the wheels. Where's that Mustang? It's never cheap to turn these animals into beasts but there several reasons the Challey is going to be more expensive. It has independent rear suspension so each corner requires tunable components where the Stang has a live rear axle. Also, the GT500s are built on Ford's assembly line. The Challengers have to be disassembled and then hand built. Each customer ends up paying more for the R&D that went into designing the system plus the fact that the Challengers are far more of a low numbers item. The GT500s have economies of scale on their side.

When I watched the video of the drag race the Challenger was definitely making up SERIOUS ground at the finish. The Ford is quicker revving but the Dodge has a HUGE top end. But best of all, the Challenger makes the Mustang look ugly.

I'm not affiliated with Speedfactory but I have met members of the company on several occassions. Real Muscle heads, that crew. Too much horsepower is almost enough with them. I like the sound of that.
