Nah, I don't mean that way, 70sguy. I meant the 70s were a LOT more fun because you could actually USE the cars. Because of the cost and the complexities of these machines, most of us DON'T actually use them as a car should be used. I'm guilty of this. I KNOW Paladin is extremely guilty of this

Heck, I got my car in September and have 1118 miles on it. We all have in the back of our heads that somehow, these machines are going to become collectors' items (which they may or may not) and are treating them like museum pieces.
Actually, I have to say that my 08 is a better car in all respects, be it handling, speed, comfort....It's apples and oranges...two very different cars that share the same name and look, but little else. While you are correct that I don't race my 08 as I did my 70...I am older and wiser and prefer not to replace my engine (440) as I did twice back in the day due to heavy racing...and I can't work on my 08 as I could my 70. Things cost a lot more today and I have other things that compete for my dollar...house, food, taxes, wife, etc, etc....
I drive my Challenger when ever and where ever I can....I doubt my 08 will be a real collector's item in my life time (but who knows)...so while I treat it better than I ever did my 70...it's not a museum piece.
Oh, and one more thing both Challengers share...."the fun factor" and I do enjoy driving it!!!
