Never drove the 426 Hemi . But I had the emblem's . I purchased a new 71 R/T Challenger 340 . Only had one 340 emblem on the hood . The dealer tried to get the other one with no luck . Something about still in production. They offered me 383 emblem's . No way , I had enough Road Runner's wanting to run me already. So then I asked if could get Hemi emblem . And they got two for me . That sure got alot of attention. Had a new Chevelle 454 pulled up along side one day wanting to run me till he spotted those 426 emblem's and then shook his head NO . I had to raise the hood a few time to get out of some race's from some really bad fast machines that wanted to run. I did end up with a 340 with 11 to one piston's , balanced , polished and ported head's and bunch other go fast stuff . And blew alot of other car's off in the 1/4 mile . Even had a Cop stop me one night about 2 am when I stomped it . While he was parked up a ally watching for drunks. A long story . But ended up he wanted to see the engine . Which was all dress out also. He had a Mustang he wanted to run me with some time. I didn't get a ticket . He just told me to be carfull that a drunk might pull out in front of me going that fast . About 90 in a 35.
