Default RE: Chrysler layoffs loom

They should have replaced the Neon immediately with a real compact economy car, not with the Caliber. Chrysler has a history of being behind the times, so if I were them, I would continue to make the LX cars and give them a fuel efficient option, namely a CRD option. They should try to improve the fuel economy on the rest of their line-up by offering taller gearing.

What will probably happen is if they go full fledge with fuel efficient cars again, then we will finally get more refineries and do more oil searching and we get a dramatic increase in supply, then people will move back to fuel guzzlers. This seems like the historical trend so they should maintain a good variety of cars for all the different market segments.
