We are in the worst Recession in recent memory and the entire American auto industry is in trouble and yet the Challengers are still holding near sticker. People are just starting to see them dip below MSRP and even that is happening in pockets. These cars are doing just fine. Lets keep things in perspective, people.
Actually Dodge is offering Employee pricing, plus a $1000 rebate, plus 0% financing on all Challys INCLUDING the SRT. That, sir, should put the state of the auto industry in general and Chrysler in particular in perspective. The rebates will end in a few weeks, but Chrysler has forever forfieted the possibility that these cars will sell at list ever again. Of course that's an issue for the dealers really rather that Chrysler. In any event, the industry is in far more precarious shape than most people think and if the government decides to stop subsidizing them, game over. It will take at least $100 Billion over 3 years before Ford, Chrysler and GM are truly viable businesses again IMHO. With the government strings attached to those loans, if you think Chrysler is going to drop capital on taking muscle cars to the next level I wouldn't bet on it. I'd be happy with a convertible, and you won't see even one of those for a while.
