One of the concerns that I have related to this topic is can I handle the manual. As I ponder on which model to buy, leaning towards the 6.1 but I'm going to see how pricing and the test drive go, I wonder If I will just be doing burnouts with the manual tranny. I have driven fast manuals before with far less than 425 horse and It is hard to pullout from a stop without spinning the tires. This maybe just my problem and maybe I need more practice but is it something that I am concerned with. Auto-stick maybe for me but I do not want to notice any drop in performance and the wife could also drive it if the world was ending, lol.
Have you ever tried out starting off in a higher gear like second or third? Perhaps this would solve your problem. I heard that some people have done this with Vipers due to the massive torque. The automatic isn't a bad one by any extent of the imagination. It is just a matter of personal preference. I would prefer a manual because I prefer choosing the gear that it is in without artifical stupidity telling me I don't really want to choose that gear.
