Are they going to offer V6s or lower powered V8 versions on the Camaro. I honestly don't think they need another car that offers the same basic engine line-up of the Corvette in the same car division. If they don't they are going to screw themselves up more.
How many Mustang V6 cars do you see around town? [/rhetorical] Ford is doing very well with the Mustang, offering all flavors. You can be sure that Chevrolet will do the same with the Camaro. It wouldn't make sense not to, don't you think?
I would have to say around 75% of Mustangs I see are V6 models. This is why I think they need to offer a V6 option. Many people go to the dealerships with the V8 in mind and realize they will be happier with the V6 option due to the lower price of insurance, lower fuel costs, and lower price when purchasing. If they offer a V6 which do you think they will offer. The 3.8L OHV 90 degree V6, the 3.9L 60 degree OHV VVT V6, 3.5L OHV 60 degree V6?
