It is probably tree sap, and if it is, you will have it going on for a couple months, depending where you live. If you wash your car every week it should come right of with a normal washing. Do not use dish washing liquid because it removes the wax already on your car. Buy Meguiars or something similar for washing.

If you leave your car outside you will need to wax more often. If you garage your vehicle you can get by waxing less often.
