Post Some Dodge History

I never knew that Dodge started out as a bicycle company and made parts for other automobile companies!

Read this brief history about the early years of the company:

Dodge's roots had humble beginnings. Before making it big, Dodge started off with the name Dodge Brothers Bicycle and Machine Factory with its founders merely concentrating on bicycle parts. Fortune knocked at once as their bicycle parts and bearings became in demand in the automobile business and the Dodge brothers also helped out in the making of parts for the Oldsmobile vehicles. Years later, the Dodge brothers tied up with Henry Ford and started creating parts for the early Ford model vehicles.

The Dodge brothers realized the profitable benefits of manufacturing cars so in 1900, they soon started making their own complete vehicles in 1914. The Dodge brothers passed away in 1920, but their vehicles proved to be commercially successful. The company later sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928.
