Hmmm...taking the most successful model of a brand and naming a brand after it. Where have I heard of this strategy before...I think Chrysler did this but oh what was the name of the division was it Plymouth. No, was it Chrysler. No, was it Dodge. No, well it was so short lived and unpopular I'll never be able to guess (remember Eagle). This is a bad idea. Why does Dodge need to be split up? It isn't like Chevrolet that has a laundry list of models. The problem with splitting it up is what goes where. Is the Caravan a Dodge or a Ram? Is the Journey a Dodge or a Ram? Is the Nitro a Dodge or a Ram (it's neither its a Jeep, well sort of)? Is the Caliber a Dodge or a Ram? Is the Dakota a Dodge or a Ram? If you ask me this is a dangerous move for the survival of Dodge. This could take away a lot of Dodge's identity, maybe Dodge itself.
