I to perfer "real" hood pins and will more than likely go that way...however, I know there are owners that want to do only additions that can be "undone" at a later time to return the car back to it's orignial state for whatever the reason. (I save any parts I have replaced as well).
Fake hood pins don't look that bad...until the hood is lifted and the entire hood pin stays on the hood......looks a bit funny at that point........but what you will learn is that not everyone is concerned with that.
And, in my opinion in order to get the correct look, you need to make your own mounting hardware to mount the pins further forward towards the front of the hood...this would increase the cost that a body shop would charge.....just a thought.
(If I go with hood pins, they will be real and I will be using 1970 Cuda mounting hardware to get the look I am looking for.......)
