ive always either done my work on my own, or with the help of my dad, who owns a shop..
however, i now live some 400 miles away, and i hate that i have no choice but to rely on shops for certain things like alignment and tires.

OK OK you got me there. My cousin does my front end alignment. But, thats blood too. And I get a man I've known for 30 years to do my tires. But everything else... well except for the interior and the body work and the painting. OK... I add bolt ons and do internal mods. Well my brother does all my machine work. I do bolt ons. But thats cool too. But seriously, I do enjoy working on and tuning my own cars and that of my family. We are rebuilding my 2.6 4 cylinder engine for my TSI. It should really pick them up and put them down. 20G turbo with 18lbs of boost... should make for one nasty ride. I'm thinking 12 sec 1/4s. We'll see!

Be sure to post a picture of it when it is showable.

i like the conquests, and before we got the AWD laser, i had been looking at a few in the area...

once we have a house with a garage, i will most likely buy an old used tire machine...or when my dad hangs it up, perhaps ill buy his old machine..its 100% manual, but id rather do that then have some high school dropout leave my lugnuts loose..

Doing it yourself is the only way to know for fact.. that the work was done right. Others have to gain your trust and respect. If everyone else knew how much piece of mind and quality time was spent under the hood of a car, they would all do their own stuff. I get to interact with my sons, brothers, cousins and when he's here... my father. And not to mention the bending and weight lifting that goes with it.

Trying to change his reputation? Hennessy is still screwing people over just as bad as before. About a week ago i saw a charger srt-8 with a hennessy turbo and supposebly built 426 engine that had blown up after only 120 miles of driving after getting it back from hennessy. I won't go into details but he didn't get what he paid for...

I plan on holding out for a procharger d1sc and doing it myself.

Well I guess this is a sign that this engine can handle forced air induction. This is a good thing.

Well, the Chargers have at least one choice of supercharger package. Why someone would want to go with a pricey, complicated, and unreliable turbo kit on an originally N/A car when a supercharger can deliver safer gains is beyond me. Not to mention, the 6.1L gets pretty good gains from the usual bolt ons.

I know of 3 Supercharger packages for the Charger.

as a viper owner i am well aware of the stigma surrounding john and his shop. I tried to order parts from him before but didnt get any response so ordered elsewhere. As a result i cant really comment on his service or parts quality.
I do know however that the guys at underground racing were building the best TT setups on the Vipers when i was active on the forums in late 07. Garth (a UGR mech and driver ) ran a 7 second quarter pass in his street legal pumpgas GTS.
If anyone was looking to TT an SRT8 id recommend asking them about it. All the guys who went through them said they had great customer service
