Default I took my R/T stripes off today

I took my R/T and side stripes off today. It took about 30 minutes and wasn't bad at all. I thought it was going to take forever. A couple of stripes came right off with ease, but a couple stripes ripped while I was taking them off, and I had to work at getting them off. I heard that you can use a hair dryer to take them off easier, but my car isn't by an electric plug, so I did I by hand. I just wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to take them off without messing up the paint job. Here are some pics of my car WITHOUT the stripes.

Looks good Jimmy - What are your plans now? Different stripes? No stripes? Our SRT8 has no stripes and I like it - but to each his own.
Good job - thanks for sharing - glad it worked out.

Sorry the pictures didn't turn out so well on this site for some reason. I'm leaving it plain black. Total black out. I think it looks mean that way.

I'm not a fan of vinyl stripe, anyways. Definitely not cars selling at these prices. I was really pleased to find my SRT without the stripe kit.

I like the stripes They are staying! I just don't like the wheels! Will be fixing that soon enough! Looks good either way though!

Looks great without the stripes.
I was going to leave mine on a while to see if they grow on me, but I still think they will be coming off before summer arrives.

I am an old school Mopar guy and I LOVE the stripes. Most Mopars had them back in the day. To each their own.

Which reminds me: The latest Challenger I've seen in San Antonio (black) has an old-school stripe on the rear end (in red). Unlike the 1970 Challenger, though, it's not flush with back of the car. (That would be hard to do, because of the shaping back there. On the 70 models, the stripes appeared to disappear behind the rear bumper). Instead, it's about 6 inches forward of the rear end and comes down the sides of the car to just below the bend, where there's an R/T insignia, also in red. It's pretty cool looking.
