I know about the heritage of the deputy model, but where did the western sport special come from? Was that you own creation?
I still stick with SE or no badge for the V6 but a deputy badge for a lower output HEMI would be excellent.

maybe they could make a V6 in beige and call it the western sport special...
or maybe call the base model the deputy...

Okay thanks for informing me about that, Patrick! That could work also.

Well that makes me feel better. Did they have a version for the Dart as well? BTW, remember the DOHC HEMI we discussed about? Allpar interview a guy who worked on a whole bunch of their engines including the slant six, 426 HEMI, the 80s I4s, and I think he mentioned the LA engines. http://www.allpar.com/corporate/bios...nterview2.html

RE: R/T or SRT?
i dont recall our previous discussion, but i am somewhat familiar with the first DOHC hemi...if we are talking about the same thing, it was to be used for nascar, when ford came out with their own version of a hemi engine...i believe that theirs was a 429...and the president of nascar at the time said no to both...

Yes it was to be used in NASCAR. The Ford one was to be the 427 "Cammer," a SOHC design. The idiot of NASCAR, I mean the President of NASCAR did say no to both. This is why NASCAR has become boring to me. They are stuck with all using the same platform which is not used in any street cars, the same displacement engines which are out of production beyond NASCAR, they use old 4-speed manual gear boxes which no one uses on new cars. Where is the fun in it if it is the same thing every year!? They need to let things be less even and let the best designer of a street car win like they did in the old days.

RE: R/T or SRT?
I think I might even start a discussion in the off topic section about this topic of NASCAR.
