Solution for "Non-lighted" cup holders
"Supposedly" the only way to do this
(according to my parts department guy)
is to buy the whole frickin console for $242.00..
So I went to Pep Boys and got these 15" long LED lights for less than $30.00 and put them in..
Lights up perfect now, especially when there are things in the cupholders..
(A little bright when they are empty, but the front one holds the ash tray all the time..)
.
.
Once I figured out how to get the top part of the console 'up' a little
to fish the wire through, it was easy..
(you just pry up the "top" section, duh..)
and ran the wires along the console towards the front,
where I already had the lights wired for my underdash lights..
I had to drill one little hole in the side of the cupholder to put the wire through..
they come on a sticky strip, so after I cleaned it with alcohol, I stuck the strip up
against the side of the cupholder..(I should have put them down a little lower..)

RE: Solution for "Non-lighted" cup holders
Thank God! Someone has come up with a way of fitting older Challengers with Lighted Cup Holders. There you go Greg...something else you need to add to Crush....
(Actually, not a bad idea, if the lighting was a little more subdued, I would consider it)

No thanks. I don't care for that kind of thing.

I was considering something similar to this but much more stealthy. Recessed LED's and color matched to the dash to give it more of a factory look. Anyone have a picture of the factory lighted cup holders?

RE: Solution for "Non-lighted" cup holders
I'm on th efence with this one. I was ta the dealership and saw a Black SRT8 with the center console cup holder light up thingy, couldn't see it lit up but hmmm, I'd be the guy to just buy the console and put it in to keep the factory look. But in the long run is it worth the $$$$ just to have the Evion light up??? my question is does it match the dash cluster color?

here is a pic that shows the "strip" itself
and where I placed them..
as you can see, it could have gone down farther with no problem..
