Joey, here's what fueleconomy.gov says about the 3.5L V-6 Charger, the closest thing we now have to compare:

MPG (city)
17

MPG (highway)
24

MPG (combined)
20
On redletterdodge they have the challenger with a 1mpg increase on the charger, giving the Chally SE 18/25. Thanks for the link Roswell.

a V-6 Charger only gets 17mpg??? Wow that sucks. Man that's horrible, the Phoenix has to do better than that.
Take a look at the V-6 Mustang for 2008 (remember, all these figures are the revised ones the government now is using):

16
City

19
Combined

24
Hwy

I have a 5.7l hemi in my 2006 Charger RT. I have 45,000 miles on it. I have always gotten 18mpg in the city and 22 to 23 mpg on the highway. With those figures, I would buy an RT.

If you want to buy a fully loaded dark blue Charger RT, contact me through a reply or email. Autotrader says $27,000 to $28,000. I would sell for $22,000

"Hah! Embarrassing. My 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue has a slightly smaller engine (3.8L V6) and more power! (214HP). The Mustang does have 10ft lb more torque but that's about it. Kind of sad that a family car beats out a "performance" car. But back on topic, the prices for the Challenger sound pretty darn good to me!"

Not really anything new though. The V6 challenger and probably the V6 camaro will also be beat out by some family cars. You've got toyota and honda producing 270hp camrys and accords. I do wish the challenger's V6 put out 300hp though.

My wife"s 06 R/T averages 25.4mpg on our summer trips, and 16mpg around town. We actually got 27.2mpg on our trip to Bristol TN a few months back. Cooler air equals more HP equals better mileage. Still all very respectable numbers considering it"s a 345 V8.

BTW - selling my loaded red 01 PT Cruiser LTD with 56Kmis and in excellent condition to get my 09 SRT8 Challenger.
KBB shows a retail value of $7460. I"ll take $6995 for it if anyone"s looking for a future collectible in great shape.

the new issue of muscle machines hinted that the 09 color combos will be the same as the daytona's so i'm assuming the blue, green, purple for sure. no idea on that copper color.
