last night when I had blown up the high res pic I too wondered if the sccops had the butterflies or the mesh. There is no telling at this point other than I think it appears to be some sort of mesh. I would hope that it isn't what we think, but it too doesn't detract from the overall look. With that said, I'm still happy.
It has been reported that the hood scoops on the SRT will not have butterfly valves like the concept car- they will only blow cool air over the engine and manifolds, like those on the Charger SRT. The R/T, it appears, may not even have that- only fake scoops like those on the original 1970 Challenger. [:@]

I have not heard of such reports, other than people are seeing mesh in spy shots.

Do you have any official reports?

mirrors do look pretty bad
Agreed. Hard to see how safety standards had to be met to make them look that bad. I can't see how it could be a cost cutting measure, either. Obviously someone at Dodge thinks they look good. Maybe the aftermarket will have a fix for it.

Yep, those look like familiar mirrors.

Maybe it is an aerodynamic thing or wind noise thing. I am just guessing.

It just hit me. Looks like they used the Viper mirrors on the new Challenger. Who ever built the Cuda concept used them too...Thoughts?

Everyone i hang with loves f bodys, so my transition to dodge is not going well. But those camaro guys are in for a huge suprise because i dont plan on my challenger bieng stock for much longer then the break in period. Also the fact that the challenger will be in my driveway soon and the camaros are still in the production faze! + 1 for dodge.
