Challenger interior!!!!

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
Very nice find. They got the shifter identical to the concept. I don't really care for the instrument panel. Very similar to the Chevy Cobalt. I wish the seats could be seen as well.

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
I'm hoping that isn't the real interior... if it is I gotta say I'm not terribly impressed so far. While I like the glock-handle shifter, the rest of what I can see looks like it could have come out of any other Dodge model. The dash of the concept looked awesome, I was so hoping for at least a variation thereof and not a warmed-over rehash of an Avenger dashboard. Hopefully the bean counters allowed them to at least keep the ultra-cool telemetry meter.
I'll reserve final judgement until I finally see one in person... but so far all I've got to say is *yawn*. |
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
it looks as if they have drifted from the one large/3 smaller gauge layout (like on the old 'standard' dash or the concept car)...that will be dissapointing-I was hoping they would just duplicate the 'rallye' dash with the 4 round pods with gauges inside-that would look a lot more like 'looking down the cylinders of an engine' that the origional concept designers had talked about!

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
By the way, what's with all the visible wires in the center console...methinks maybe this ain't the final version. Dodgeman you living, breathing, walking, talking LEGEND...can you please confirm?
|
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
This is probably a 2009 test vehicle. The verticle rod/cable is for telemetry.

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
I like the concept interior better

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
Disappointing to say the least. All the cool design discussions about capturing the trapezoidal shapes, using the cylinder heads as inspiration for the gauge cluster, metallic textures on the finish. I sincerely hope this is not the finished product. The seats look like crap! Ughhh. I truly hope this is some kind of test mule with stuff cobbled together from other cars to fill in for the true interior coming.
Sorry to sound negative but the concept is so well done...I want that! |
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
ORIGINAL: retroboy Do you guys not check the other threads on this site? This was posted like yesterday.. by the original author ORIGINAL: RoswellGrey Quite frankly, I could care less what the interior looks like. They could have a wooden box for a seat. What's important is that everyone is going to know it's a Challenger you're driving. and next year everone will have a challenger , so what.... buy what you like :) ORIGINAL: 70sguy Don't expect any deliveries before mid summer as these cars aren't ready for the production lines yet. retroboy, Before getting off on the wrong foot, you might want to rethink the way you word things in some of your posts. On the flip side, I want it NOW and can compensate for shortcomings with aftermarket parts/kits once it's under my butt. Been planning to improve my wife's Charger R/T with the "trim kit" below. I'm sure they'll offer something similar for the Challenger in a very short time. I'll endure until then. |
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
I guess it's on the same level as its competition at least
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/684/20091317egd6.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.au...nterior_01.jpg really it just needs that metalish material that's around the guages and shifter to be on the air vents and radio and i'll be good. |
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
hahahaha i knew they'd have the lines of the interior like the originals and go with charger guages. I'm hoping they just threw a interior together for the test mules though. Doesn't make sense that the 09 rams have "high tech" guages. i realize they redisigned the entire truck but the challenger is a brand new car all together. so imo it should be treated the same

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
It looks as though it was just thrown together for a test car in my opinion.
I ordered with My-GIG nav and there is no visible way that that would look right in this unofficial dash. They would have to hack it up and make it look worse than it does already. I'm hoping it's closer to the prototype than these pictures. Eric |

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
remember guys your looking at anR/T .The SRT will certainly be provided with the special trim, hopefully, maybe, but black isn't that bad. The wood grain didn't look that bad either. My old cuda had a wood grain finish around the instrument panel.

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
i hope that they offer the higher end radio with navigation and sirius..i had a 300 rental with that setup, and i love it...i dont need the navigation, but its fun to play with on long trips.
|
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
You have to remember where those pictures were taken from and it wouldn't surprise me of those were special test cars.
For example look at those 3wires in the center console not on this thread but on the other that showed the orange push/twist button. That is not going be in that car. I am suggesting these pictures of cars not yet finished yet. |
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
well fingers crossed it's not the final say in the interior. i don't remember if i heard on this site or on a different one but the leaked photos of the camaro's interior are supposdely not the same as the ones that will hit the dealership. eh, we'll find out soon enough
|
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
Just like many people said before, we do not know yet if this is the finished product, nor do we really know what trim level this is. If my eyes are not mistaking me, I don't think the shot that shows the edge of the seat is even leather, so this looks like it is a pretty basic version. There will be special trim packages. I'm sure that SIRIUS and a navigation system will be offered as well. Also remember to judge this car for what it is and not what it isn't. It is a muscle car not a luxury car.

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
The spy photos that we have been seeing don't mesh with remarks made by Alan Barrington, the interior designer in Part VII of the Castiglione/Barrington videos. I am hoping that Chrysler has a suprise for us. We will all know in 24 hours! :)
|
RE: Challenger interior!!!!
Looks as if that is the official dash layout...there are 'official' Dodge interior pics floating around on the web now. It looks as if they kept the trapezoidal door panels in tact, though..

RE: Challenger interior!!!!
It might also be one of those things that when you see it in the photo it looks bad, but when you see it in person it looks better. The out going Ram and the upcoming Ram were like that for me. When I saw it in the photo, I thought, "Oh no, they killed a good thing." Then when I saw both of them in person, I thought, "You know this looks pretty good overall." Also this isn't the best photo either. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate them for posting it, but this is a better looking picture.
