Default Convertible Challenger - PICTURE!!!

I just got the new issue of Car & Driver today in the mail. They have a photograph of the convertible Challenger. It looks good! I think it's a 2010 model which will be out in 2009. It definitely still looks like a muscle car. It said to expect the convertible option to cost $5K extra.

I just scanned the picture for you guys. Isn't it sweet?

That's great news. A Challenger drop-top. $5K more than hardtop. Now we need to find out what the price will be. And remember, in another year or 2, the price will be about $8 -10k less, if you don't mind buying a used one... I see where 07 Mustang GT ragtops are around 26-30K , with low miles on them.

Personally, I'd never own a convertible because I've always wanted as much metal as possible around me (too bad you can't buy a tank!) while hurtling down the freeway, and -- especially with the Challenger -- the roofline is part of what makes any car distinctive. All that said, however, this car looks good.

One good thing is that you can see everything around you easily - no blind spots.
I don't like how a lot of new cars have low roofs and narrow windows.
I can drive this thing and pretend I'm driving a Ferrari F430 Spyder.
I find it quite tempting.

The windshield trim. Looks silver/chrome in the pic.

Of course with the top up there may be large blindspots. Most of the rag tops Iv've driven when the top was up, it was scary what you couldn't see

Everything I have read to date said the convertibles would not be available in the SRT model, but that is definately an SRT...

I didn't even think there would ever be a convertible version until today.
I thought Dodge wouldn't want to go to the extra trouble of making one.
