I think they do it for easy brand identification, a la pontiac with its distinctive grill(s).

As Skippy explained, they do this because it is their signature. Having a distinct brand symbol like that helps them stand out. I actually like the crosshair grille. I was happy when they changed cars over to that because I didn't care for the other grilles thay had before during the early 90s through 80s (no offense Patrick).

 

The grill now looks just like the 1970 Challenger. Again staying true to Challenger legacy.

 

I would have to agree with both here. I love the Dodge symbol, cross hair grill I should say, because if anything says Dodge then it's that. But at the same time this car is all about the past and that wasn't something that was there in the past. I have a feeling for anyone who wants that cross hair that there is going to be an aftermarket part for it.

 

The cross haired grill, or lack thereof, is the least of my worries right now. After reading some other posts here, the interior changes are far more concerning.

 

Yeah, I'm looking for shag carpeting for the headliner and a zebra print upholstery for the seats!

 

They will be changes made to make large production efficent and cost effective.
