RE: Motor Week Review of SRT Challenger
I made the mistake of letting my wife watch the Motor Week SRT road test. [&:]
After watching the car do several burnouts, she said:
1. Where are you going to drive this car?
2. This car is expensive!
3. This burns premium gas!!
4. Insurance will be high!!!
5. This car is impractical!!!!
6. You going to get a ticket!!!!!
To this I answered:
1. Anywhere I want to go.
2. Only $8K more than your 2008 Honda Pilot.
3. So what. Even regular grade is expensive.
4. Maybe.
5. What's your point?
6. Not if I'm careful.
She knows that I have already ordered it. She just can't understand why I need it. You guys know that answer. Right?

Great show! Finally got to see it in something besides a crummy youtube video.
This will be a great car to drive when the first one gets delivered in 3008.

How is it that Road & Track gets 4.7 in the 0-60 and 13.00 in the 1/4 mile? Seems like a fairly large discrepancy between Motor Week's findings... And when are we gonna see one of these things on the road?????????

Motorweek may have different set of conditions when they did those tests. With only 6400 Challengers and not arriving until late May and June my guess is that we may occassionally see one across all 50 states but not very often. I think some of us will not see one on the highways until the 2009's hit the roads in July - October time frame.

RE: Motor Week Review of SRT Challenger
My wife asked all the same questions and more early on. I had one simple response. I earned the right to own this car!!
