NASCAR Challenger
Dodge has unveiled its NASCAR Challanger. It is not the prettiest car but it's great to see a Challenger back on the race track!

Not really breaking news, but interesting none the less as no Race Challenger has been on a track that has turns (not a drag strip) since the 1970 Trans-Am series. It will be nice to see our car out there rubbing fenders with the Mustang. To bad Chevy doesn't want to jump in with their new Camaro as that would have been real fun to watch. They want to continue using their Impala.....could there be a bit of fear that it may not perform as well as the Dodge or Ford?

Well it appears as if the new Challenger met the Challenge!
Now that the tire smoke is all gone, here's where they finished...
4th place was Brad Keselowski in the Discount Tire car who started the race on the pole.
13th place was Packer Kligerman, a rookie in the other Discount Tire car after starting second on the front row.
17th place was Justin Allgaler in the Verizon Wireless car after starting in the fourth postion.
It was a good showing for the Challenger's first outing as they were strong throughout the entire race. Several issues kept the Dodges from higher finishes...Brad sliding through his pit box, and having to backup on his last stop. Justin losing his rear bumper due to heavy bump drafting was to prevent his hooking up with Brad for a run to the front of the field. In fact Justin did some good driving in order not to lose control and wreck. Packer was in Brad's backup car which apparently was not really set-up properly for the race, but still drive to a 13th place finish.
Overall a really good race...most fans were glad to see Jr. win driving his Wranger Chevy dressed in his dad's colors and number....(perhaps for the last time...)
