Question Alarm systems

Has anyone installed an aftermarket alarm/remote start in an 09 R/T?

I have an after market alarm. Not sure if they would override something to do the remote start, manual transmission, but I didn't want them to do that with the horror stories I've heard about that.

To tell you the truth, I'd be leery about adding any aftermarket electronics to any modern car. I've heard/read too many horror stories about what can happen. These cars are just too complicated.

That's why I have the "keyless" start....one less complication.....

(I'm with you....don't want to mess with the electronics on modern cars....not like the "good old days" with my 1970 Challenger when you could add almost anything....)

True, Joe. If you can't hot-wire an 8-track player into the cigarette lighter, you shouldn't mess with a car's electronics.

No problems at all here. The thing locks and unlocks with the remote, kills the ignition when I try to start it with the system armed, locks when I turn the key, which is a waste with the rollings locks, unlocks when I turn the key, and works the trunk. Very good install and 0 issues from the beginning. Just sucks that I have to carry two fobs for the keyless entry.
