Default Thoughts at 18,000 miles.

Well I'm almost at 18000 miles and all I can say is wow. Nothing has gone awry on the car and I abuse it daily. As anyone on my daily ride can attest to. This car rocks. The rear tires are just about wore out due to too many test rides for family and friends. But the looks I get and the thumbs up and props are still coming every day. I still don't see too many Challengers out and about in this part of the Carolinas. I am seeing more Camaros on the street but no stop light jousts as of yet. I came close but the SS would not bite. With fall coming I'll be driving the Stealth more and giving the R/T a rest. I have a few winter projects and the GTX is the biggest. A new paint job for the Conquest and finish the 70 Challengers interior. I don't know for sure but I think the 70 would out run the 09 as it stands now. But the 70 is heavily modded. I took it out for a spin on Sat. and man what a handful it is to hold on the road. I do not know how I drove it for so long in the early 90s as a daily driver. I might take the 09 R/T to the strip one more time when it really cools off to really see what it can do in the 1/4. Again I can't say enough good things about the 09 and can't think of one bad thing to say. Did I say THIS CAR ROCKS.

Did you go to the show at Lowes Speedway ? I had every intention to check it out but I guess the powers that be had other plans so I never made it.

Yes I was there and saw alot of really fine automobiles. The temperture was perfect and an overcast day made for some comfortable moving around. I think I walked 10 miles. There were vendors of all sorts, if you needed it or were just wondering about it they were there to help. Lots of folks turned out and they were real car people, enjoying the sites and sounds. Nice event to go to.

over a year, and 9,000 miles later, I am amazed how well this car has held up. I have been through 2 sets of rear tires, and the 3 set was put on a couple months ago. I beat this car harder then ANY new car I have ever owned..... Still looks, feels and drives as new!

I know what you mean. The whole time I'm driving... I tell myself to be nice and drive really gas concious. But I usually go through the gears at 1/2 power just to hear and feel the power. And I still get 19 MPG. I really do like this car.
