Tire sizes for 18" Mopar wheel?
(I posted this in the "suspension" forum also, but it seems there are more people in here, and since it's related to an R/T I hope it's OK to re-post)
I bought the 18" Mopar wheels as seen here: Mopar Wheel
I'm trying to find the biggest tire (both wide and tall) that I can put on this rim and still fit it on my R/T without any interference. I noticed today that the standard 20" wheels with the 245/45 tires is extremely tight to the suspension components.
Anyone know what tire size might work?
Thanks.

p.s. I've never lowered one of my vehicles, but it seems these Challengers are ripe for doing so. They have a very high stance, and it would be nice to bring it down a little.

We need to know the width as well as the rim diameter. Are they 8's or 8.5's? You can only safely go so wide based on the rim width. Just a guess would be 255-55-R18's would be the biggest. You will definately have to take some measurements in the wheel well.
Sorry about that. They are 7 1/2" wide.
Even if I take measurements, it's hard to tell exactly what will work without throwing a wheel on. I was hoping someone else may have done some experimenting.

Forget it. I just did some checking, and there aren't even that many tire options available for 18" rims. Must be why Dodge chose the 235/55s.
There are a lot more options for a 17" rim. Darn.

The stock tire on the 18" package'd R/T is a 235/55/R18?
