Why does the apostrophy (') character keep duplicating to look like quotation marks or 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. apostrophies after subsequent edits or if quoted in a reply by another member's post?

its one of the problems with our software. we will be upgrading to new software at some point, which will do away with the problems relating to the apostrophes and the galleries.
