Default Installing K&N tonight

I'm installing the K&N cold air intake tonight and I heard that the bracket doesn't fit properly. Is this true? I heard if you put it in like they said, the hood doesn't shut properly. Any experience with it?

What model do you have Jimmy? The SRT fits perfectly.

I have installed the intake and it fit fine, the pain in the butt part was the rubber edging you have to put around the big black plate hahahaha, but the bracket fit fine, and is a pretty easy install.

I have the 2009 5.7L R/T.
Myself and a buddy installed it in about an hour. Everything fits perfectly and looks and sounds incredible. My gas milage has gone up from 16 to 18 miles per gallon since installing it. It gives it a louder, deeper sound from the engine. I just can't wait to get my MBRP exhaust in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend the K&N for anyone interested.
Just make sure they send you the right one. Originally, they sent me the 63-1117 which was wrong. Luckily, I double checked before trying to install it. I had to send it back and get the correct one which is 63-1114. I was going to take a picture of it installed, but some how I lost my camera. I will get a new camera next week and put some pictures up.

I installed my K&N 63-114 2 days ago. I had to make a spacer for the front mount to lower the heat shield about 1 1/2 inch. The shield was way to tall and would not let the hood close.
From looking at others, it appears that the hole on my heat shield was drilled too high.

Someone else posted the same thing a while ago which prompted me to ask around before I installed mine. I didn't have any problems with installing mine though. I don't know why. Maybe I just got lucky with mine.

All of the above. My MPG went up from 16 average to 18 average. The engine/exhaust makes a little more noise now (it was way too quiet before). I just started to feel some more power from it. It took a couple of hundred miles for it to kick in, but I can definitely feel it now. From my experience, I would definitely recommend it.
