Seems I specifically remember someone saying the owners manual clearly stated the proper break-in proceedure as "drive it like you stole it"...

I see it right here clearly in the manual:

Drive fast on slick pavement with loud music.

It also says you may see some smoke coming from the rear, and smell burning rubber. If this happens Its BECAUSE everything is working :-)

That must be the part where it talks about running in "hybrid" mode...

Yeah... I heard about that too. This manual must be an interesting read... maybe I should open it up...

I've seen one TorRed Challenger in real life. A truly beautiful color. Had they been willing to sell it at MSRP (mine was on order at another dealership), I would have bought it on the spot. Also, the one I saw was an SE, so it had no stripes. As it is on virtually all colors, striping of some sort on the TorRed is a must. It's a fairly bright color and that's a LOT of car.
