Default 2008 vs 2009

There seems to be a lot of speculation about what we will get in the 2008 models for options (engine, transmission, etc) vs the 2009. And the speculation that all the SRTs have been reserved already isn't getting my hopes up for getting my hands on non-overpriced 2008 either. So my question is this - since the 2008s are coming out in early 2008, are the 2009s coming out in late 2008 or early 2009? Will they shift the production to 2009 models at some point in the middle of the year so they can have a standard cycle? Any guesses?

Detroit Auto Show - February 8, 2008; planned/announced debut of the production 2008 Dodge Challenger.
My guesses;
Late April - mid May, 2008; 2008 m.y. Dodge Challengers on the showroom floors (probably not collecting much dust either).
Mid September, 2008; 2009 m.y. Dodge Challengers being built
January 2009; when I expect the hoopla and gouging has dwindled and I order mine. [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

Bootcamp, unless you know something I don't know.

The NAIAS is in Detroit Michigan for the public during January 19-27.

The Dodge Challenger gets it debut at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6, 2008.

Let's not get everybody all confused on such important shows and dates. Our passion depends on it. LOL!

See....that's what I get for using another site as a reference for my "timeline".
You're absolutely right, Bud. Chicago Auto Show - February 6th, 2008, NOT Detroit on February 8th.
I should have checked/cross-referenced the dates and shows more thoroughly before posting.
My mistake. Thanks for straightening that/me out.

For me it's quite simple. I wouldn't even think about a 2008. Too much dealer markup and too many first year issues. I will wait til 2010 to see if they will build a convertible. I would love a Plum Crazy conv. with a white top, interior, and decals!!!! If not, I must have the 392 Hemi coupe. I am sure they will make one. They have to. And if there is a God, a 392 Hemi conv. But I doubt it.

In a few weeks (August) the Woodward Cruise will take place.

Several months ago, during an SRT chat session, one of the SRT engineers stated that we should pay attention to the Cruise. He implied that we will see a production 6.4 Hemi Challenger roaming the streets!

I found some information that was noteworthy but didnt feel that it was enough to give it an actual topic. edmunds has complied all of their challenger information in one neat little webpage. With spyshots videos, etc. Most (if not all of this info) is known but they are intentially calling it a 2009 model. If they are right how many would wait till 2010 or later?

If you look on our website you will find most of those pictures on our forum. The only thing we do not have are the videos, but that is a good central
resource for the Dodge Challenger. Thanks for the update.
