One difference is you'll probably swing an 09 for cheaper than an 08, since the 09s don't have that numbered dashboard plaque that somehow, according to dealers, adds at least an additional $10,000 to the car's value...

Seriously, the LSD will be standard on the 6-speed cars (and I'm guessing an option on the automatics, although Dodge needs their heads examined for not including it on all V8 models, regardless of whether they're a 6-speed or automatic). Also TorRed will be another color choice in 09.

As far as the stripe difference, I personally haven't heard of any difference, but maybe someone else can set us straight on this one...

I heard the same thing about different hood treatment too. Also, fully agree Yankee about all V-8s should have Limited slip. Heck, the 5.0 Mustangs of yesteryears all had LSD w/ 5.0 and that was pushing like 220HP stock??? Of course, it didn't weigh as much as a double-wide trailer either...

The "official" answer on the stripes is that they will be flat-black. But all the pics Ive seen of 2009 SRTs have had the Carbon stripes. They could have just been the pre-production models though. Still waiting for someone to take delivery on a 2009 SRT to confirm.

The pics on Dodge website show a fiber hood for 08 and solid stripe for the 09s. I personallly like the solid stripe. The carbon fiber looks cheap for a decal and it makes the stripe a lighter shade than the solid black stripe. Both cars look good with the stripe but, the versitlity of the solid black appeals to me a little more. Now if there was some Carbon fiber highlights in the inside of the car then the Carbon look would work. This issue is a small problem and whatever you get you will still be happy.

I saw somewhere on this site where somebody ordered the stripes deleted on a RT and put the carbon fiber stripe on himself. So you can get what you want.

I have and love CF stripe on my LE 2008 and everywhere I go people say the CF looks so much better the plain black. JFYI..
