RE: Black or Orange?
Gotta say orange. This is a car that asks for color. Ive seen both black and orange and while the black was cool it didnt jump out at me the way the orange ones did. Plus the black was dirty after sitting on the dealer lot for only 2 days.
bootcamp I gotta disagree with the majority are orange thing. Yeah the 2008s are mostly orange but black will be offered for the cars entire life cycle and on all the models. Orange is limited to 08s and 09s and only on the rt and srt. In 5 years there will be way more black challengers than orange ones on the road.

RE: Black or Orange?
Everything said and done, there are only TWO colors acceptable for the Challenger: Plum Crazy or White.
Now, the trouble with Plum Crazy is that the Challenger is a LOT of car to be purple the same as it is to be orange. You would obviously need at LEAST as much black striping as our associates with '08 Hemi Orange have. Or better still a la the 1970 model a black vinyl top! Unfortunately, Dodge doesn't offer you the vinyl option. (Damn modern corporations and their anything-for-the-bottom-line philosophy!)
Hence, the only REAL solution to the color proplem is to emulate the legendary Brother K, that soul hero in his soulmobile, and go with Stone White which is a hell of a lot better than Dodge's Alpine White was in the '70s.
Oh...yeah. I ordered a white one. And my '70 DID start out as Plum Crazy with a black vinyl top and ended up '82 Corvette White. But don't think I'm biased when it comes to colors.

BLACK
My favorite car color yet almost every car I owned was RED. For my first new car I must go BLACK.
….confession time, I never really got the whole HEMI-Orange thing its “meh” for me.
