Default Brembo Brakes on Challenger

Love the point of getting Brembo brakes.

I thought the prototype embossing/engraving Challenger on the calipers (front in pictures - not sure of rear). the production items have Brembo logo.

That was pretty cool, but which is better - Off the shelf Brembo calipers that may fit several applications? or a vehicle specific (due to name) one??

Opinions/facts?

Eric

I really like the red Brembros with the black paint. I bet the ones on the concept didn't stop as fast either.

MGDMike, I think they would be, my assumption about SRT's was that, in general, the mechanics are all premium performance components, and the option packs are for stereos, and convenience features...

Am I off base, anyone?

Oh, I think I misunderstood MGDMike's question. I thought he meant standard on SRT. I've been up all night brewing, so I'm a bit punchy and I've got to get up for work in four hours.

You don't think they'd be offered in the R/T as a handling package or something?

Correct, only SRT models get the Brembo "Performance" brakes. The Challenger R/T will have "Heavy Duty" brakes.

So in a brembo system, is they're something special about the Master Cylinder, or does all the magic happen in the calibers? I'm no brake expert, but I would imagine, the superiority of a these breaks are largely in the design of the calibers and not the inducer of pressure on the brake fluid. To this end and if this assumption is correct, seems like bolting new CaLIBERS would be breeze.

My bad.. yes I was meaning the Brembo's on the SRT. If your going to have that kind of power to go your going to need it to stop some time as well.

To have a state-of-the-art braking system, you have to have the 4 piston Brembo (aluminum) calipers, cross-drilled/sloted rotors, and high performance brake pads. Brembo makes a Sport Brake system for most cars. It works with your existing master cylinder.
