Cannibalized Sales of Avenger w/ Challenger SE?
Cuda340 pointed out earlier, no challenger listed on Canadian Chrysler site. While there I saw/remembered the Avenger. I started to think, with the Challenger SE priced in the neighborhood of the Avenger, I would wager there will be some serious cannibalization of sales. What do you guys think? I mean you're not getting jaw dropping diffs between the models for fuel economy, and though the avenger has more doors, I doubt it has more room or cargo capacity.
To me, if I were in that market, the SE would represent a very attractive alternative.

They already have an SE plus version of the charger which is probably the same price as the challenger will end up being. I'd think that would cannibalize sales more because of their similar looks and function. Personally I think the avenger cannibalizes its own sales by sucking but that's just me.

I think the 2 vs. 4-door thing will prevent the Challenger SE from killing the Avenger. People seem to put a lot of truck in the utility of a 4 door when you can really do just fine with a 2 door. You can still transport 4 people and some stuff whether you have 2 doors or 4.

For most people yeah. I think the 2 door vs. 4 door thing comes to a head for people with kids. I'd imagine screwing with baby stuff and trying to get your kid into a car seat would be hell in a car like the challenger.

I'm planning on this being a second vehicle, my 3 yr old jumps in to the seat now and starts buckling himself in already. @ doors will be fine with me

Yeah, they were trying to capitalize on the Charger's momentum, so they did this mid size car homage to the Charger. I've seen them look good, but they leave me a little flat. Between the two, I think I like the old Mitsu produced avengers...

Yeah, that's exactly what I was talking about; the haunched quarter panels, but a much smaller car. And, imnsho, they ruined the Sebring.
