Also hard on the fuel pump since it is located in the gas tank (at least for most modern cars) and if you run near empty all the time, it could cause premature failure of the pump.

The EPA rates their MPG at Crazy levels. 80 mph and crap. i think if you go to epa.gov or whatever there site is you can find their testing ways. Stuff like that.
