I like the family heirloom line of thinking Skippy, as it is the exact same thing I plan on doing with mine. I could care less about re-selling it, etc. What I do care about though is enjoying it to its fullest. By that I mean driving it daily (with the exception of wintertime) pampering it like a newborn and maybe taking it to car shows once in a blue moon. I bet watching other people enjoy it and talk about it and ask questions about it will be pretty cool! That, for me, is what it's all about.

I'm following down the line with Albeeno and Damnskippy in that I could care less about resale value. Ive had a few years around this earth and can finally get something I have worked a long hard time for, so passing it on to my family later in life will be a great experience they can think back fondly of. Car's luckily become collectors items, but if you buy one thinking about what might be 20, 30, 40 years down the road, then more than likely your headed for disappointment. Who would have imagined back in '70 that limited Challengers would go for a couple a hundred grand, considering the build quality and stuff with those runs. Not to mention that most to not stay with original owners or even all parts, it's just luck.

the screwing may not be as bad as i first thought...dang i am glad i did not jump on the bandwagon on this one....heck..shelby even announced today gt500 production through 2009 and may be through 2010 with gt350 soon to follow...guys do your homework for msrp deals...we may be few but we have more facts then the dealer...some dealers will play the adm game and get away with it due to customers not having done their homework... i know members here will not be as gullable....i seriously doubt i will buy a chally..nice car looks good and well be very happy to see a chally on road again..personally..new dodge ram is in the works and or that new 2009 blue oval f150..

I intend to drive my 2009 SRT and could care less about its appreciation in 30-40 years. If it happens, I consider that a bonus.

As far as purchasing the car, I will be contacting numerous fleet managers over the internet next Fall and will travel out-of-state to get a reasonable price. Also, I intend to order one to avoid all the the option packages that add thousands to the car and no extra performance (e.g., GPS, Kicker stereo, sunroof, etc.).

In 40 years, the 20 year olds on this forum will be in their 60's and maybe too old to use a manual. LOL!

In 40 years the 20 year olds will be seeking out the ultimate classic "ricers". [:'(]
