Good luck bro ,
I have 3 neck tattoos and the recuriters haven't spoken to me since I was 18 . I'm 21 now and for everyone here ... if you don't want to join the army putting tattoos on your hands and neck is a good way .
I hope they let you in !

Greg i do hope that they let him in with wavers i think that he would be a good soldier and make this old broke soldier proud. His wife is in the Navy doing her part for our country.
I'm not saying he would be a bad soldier as a matter of fact I think all young men and women should be required to serve at least one term but, the ugly truth is body art and piercing is not real popular in the corporate or the military world. It is very often connected to gang activity and thus, taboo. I've set at many a interview and watched resumes go in the trash when it was over simply because of ink and holes.
I think part of that is because having a ton of ink and holes on your body takes the focus off the company you are trying to represent and instead puts it back on you as the individual.

Maybe it has something to do with the "anchor & ship" tattoo or the Marine Corps tattoo.......
the army allows neck tattoos. they require them to be from the ear back, mine are just foward of my ear by like 1 inch,so they have to have it approved, thats all im waiting on now.
Over the last few years they have relaxed the standards a number of times because they need all the people they can get at this point. I am seeing some people that never would have been able to get in 10 years ago get in so Im sure if a tatoo an inch out of regs is all you have then you will get a waiver.
Just cover it up with a big Band-Aid, like in the movie…”Officer and a Gentleman”
(Good luck...you should have no problen getting in, and may I be the first to thank you for being willing to serve........Thanks)
