Let's DO WORK Andre...
Alright so my RUBBERBANDMAN put me up on knowledge that...
ANDRE is THE MAIN MAN WITH THE MASTER PLAN to get these challys whompin...
(I'm sure I won't be the only person trying to get on the right track soo i made this thread instead of a PM)
andre I was wondering if you be willing to make a tuning/mod guide for the 08 SRT8 for dumb noobs like me.
are you with me?
Be a guiding hand. where do I start first???
wheres the best places to do business? etc...
it seems like that might make your existence on the board a little less repetitive with posts too.

RE: Let's DO WORK Andre...
A mod post is a good idea Trevor, but we can all help each other. The more people we get that want any one mod, the better of a deal we all get.
If I had to select from my mods for a "step 1", I would do the tune and CAI as a single upgrade. Even the Diablo "canned" tune is great compared to the stock tune. Once that is installed you can firm up the transmission shifts, so you feel like your in a muscle car.... The tuner will allow you to bring up the rev limiter and at WOT you will extend shifts all the way to 6400 rpm if you like.
I have upgraded a valve body for the transmission to correct the slight clutch pack overlap in the 1-2 shift. I will install at the same time as the converter and let you know If it does what it should.
I avoid talking about the converter because its my profession, and I am not a vendor on this board. Lets just assume you purchase a converter equal to mine....
The converter is the buffer on the 2008 Challengers. I believe Dodge set the clearances in excess to protect the car from the driver during the warranty period. They did us NO favor. This is also the reason behind offering only the automatic in the first year. The converter will slip prior to something breaking. At a cost of 14+% slippage, this causes heat, and robs power on the way to the tires. No metal connects the crank to the tires.... Only the converter (fluid coupling).
Well lets see if this much will post without error...

RE: Let's DO WORK Andre...
thanks for the explanation
i just thought it would be a cool thread we could all work together on.
like a "if you want to mod your car well, this method has been tried and true etc" sort of thing.
its all about the collab

Nice vids from Zoomers! I Agree this would be a great post. My performance Installs are as follow:
- Swapped out the brake pads
- Mopar CAI
- Zoomers Cat Back....and can't wait for the Tips and SS X-Pipe to show up!
- 180 Deg Tstat
- Diablo Sport tuner.....Just loaded the rev and will install as soon as I finish typing.
I'm going to work the suspension next....Hotchkis Bars and Eibach Pro-Street-S's.....the I'll firm up my wheels
I'm quite interested in your tranny mods....It's top on my list as well. I really want My Challenger to shift like my 727 did in the mopars of my youth! In my freeway testing today Pedal mash to the floor @ 60 MPH....hits pretty hard and pulls just as well!!
