My Challenger went to "D" status yesterday !!
 

You guys should check your orders as my car went to "D" status yesterday !!! That means it is in production and only 2-3 weeks away....

Let me know if you guys find the same.

Oh and this means I have a VIN numer and here it is: 8H291043

Wonder what that means ?

Mine is Hemi Orange. Heard they were building the black ones last. ;) Just kidding, I know you ordered black, right? Just so you know, not many went to "D"status, so don't be disappointed if your status hasen't changed just yet.

I'm not really sure ? I will ask my rep when I talk tim him next, I was wondering the same thing.

I had 3 in "C" status and mine was the only one that went to "D". Mine is Orange and yes I was told that they will build the orange ones first.

Black yes,Its cool Im still running around trying to sroung up so extra dollars for the payment, it makes sense to build all the same color at a time like to get mine in june or tomorrow:D

An excellent point. We could use the NEW banner on T-shirts. Those of us who didn't order an '08 probably still could afford a shirt. And since those that paid the markup now have lost their shirts, they need new ones. ;)

Mine is still in "c" status. I ordered mine on 12/10, hemi orange fully loaded. The guy who ordered before me is in "D" status. He ordered his on 12/3.

My last post may not be that clear Is there a way to check on -line if I move frome c to d I have my von number and I called the 1 800 992 1997 number but they are mon to friday 9 to 5, My dealer will have to rent me a room as much as I have been in there :)

I'm excited for you guys.

But I'm extremely jealous.

One part of me says pay what you need to in order to get an 08 ASAP, but the other side says wait for the 09 with a stick and possible Sublime.

Keep posting - looks like you guys got some fairly low number production.

Anyone's unit less than #100?

Can't wait to see and hear them in the street as well as the ability to see every square inch of a production unit.

The last six of the vin are a sequence, but not necessarliy the build number for the dash label...

otherwise i'd have 9900 of 6400 ha ha

The lower your VIN, the better, but, as the dealer who posts at RLD said, the last 8 digits of the vin run in sequence for all the cars that come down the line (300's, Chargers, and Challengers).. that tells me that all 6400 Challengers will not have sequential VINs... FWIW, the local Chrysler plant that makes minivans can turn out (when everything is running perfectly) roughly 80 minivans per HOUR!!! I am not sure if Brampton is set up to run at such a high rate since they are building lower volume models...at any rate, I have only seen 1 VIN lower than mine (I am jealous Joani!) but we are just over 400 numbers apart...

I havent been this worked up over a "D" since college biochemistry!
