Default new price???

don't know if this is the right section for this, but i went down to my local dodge earlier. people are setting up for a car show. one of the guys that works there comes up and tells me about the "new" price. he said 62k and you have to put 20 down????? haven't frequented the board and i tried searching but came up empty. 3 of the big bosses came out to confirm this and the 3 (in each color) that they're getting will be sold to them personally... i rolled my eyes and asked if it was like how they were bragging to everyone that they were getting the 3 in the begining of january. they didn't like that to much but i couldn't help it. is it still june???

I am guessing that that is probably for the limited edition 2008 version where there is price gouging going on and has been since December 3, 2007.

Just wait for the 2009 where there are more of them and a better deal.

that's exactly what i'm doing. i get 1% over invoice and the discount excludes srt8 models anyways. I'd rather have the 6 speed r/t anyways. so have you heard this new price too or is this just what the dealership agreed on. I know some price gouge on certain cars and other dealers don't. from what i understand it's up to the owner and sales people

Chrysler will stick to its MSRP. Dealers on the other hand will push the price through the ceiling. They will sell to the highest bidder. Wait until 2009 and you will get MSRP and a really nice choice.

Yeah. Who'd want one of those old beater '08s anyway? It's almost the end of the model year. I hear Dodge is trying to unload the last 6,400 before the brand-spanking-new 2009s come out.

62? That's pretty shameless. They sound a little bit full of...baloney.

Yeah, I believe they were fudgin' it a bit. I think there were implying their policy in not relegated to being their policy but Chrysler policy.

Disingenuous at least. Dishonest at worst.

BTW, I moved this thread to general discussion as it seemed like a more appropriate categorization.

MSRP of fully optioned 2008 SRT8 is $41,985... + $20,000 ADM = $61,985 so, basically, the dealer is charging $20,000 Additional Dealer Markup for the privledge of owning the first model year. [:'(]

A car dealer would tell lies about the price? Gasp. I'm shocked! That never happens.
Look on Ebay for the real 2008 SRT8 going prices. It's a lot less than 62k.
