Straight from the dealers convention in las vegas..The first 5500 challengers will be all automatics built as 08's The 6 speed version will not be available until Sept 08 as a 09 models...so we have to wait for the "good" ones SRT base price...38k

 

$38K for an SRT, that isn't bad at all. I'm assuming that would be equipped with the 5-speed automatic.

 

interesting...this seems to be about what i was expecting...now, heres hoping to some engine options to make the model grow, much like the mustang has done...hopefully this proves to be true, especially the price, once they hit the showrooms...

 

I don't want to challenge (pun intended) someone with one whole post and an impressive rack to boot (if those are yours) but what convention specifically? Do you have anything tangible to back up those numbers? Or do we just nod like bobble-heads and accept your word?

 

he is telling the truth, the chrysler dealer convention is mon.-wed. here in vegas, the dealers are here to see new models and get some training. i've been here since last wed. nite.

 

any idea on when dodge will release some official information to the people who matter...the consumers?

This gives me hope that the "initial rush" for the production Challenger and subsequent gouging will be on the '08 autosticks, and the '09 models (which is what I'll now be looking at) will be less likely to be marked up (as high).
