Questions for 08 owners who have there cars
Right, but how does that relate to the '09 SRT8 6-Speed Manual we're talking about? As was previously stated, only the automatics get remote start. The '09 R/T 6-Speed Manual and '09 SRT8 6-Speed Manual do NOT get remote start. Yet someone posts the solution is the owners manual or that they'll put an aftermarket one in? My question is simply how are you going to overcome the need for the clutch to be disengaged while the engine starts in a remote start scenario?
I have known of a couple of aftermarket companies that claim they can offer a remote start on a manual transmission - don't know how they do it, but I guess where there's a will there's a way. I figure if my car has one, fine - but it's not something I'm gonna go out of my way to have installed if it isn't there.
So let me try to clarify this for everyone to avoid the confusion.
The 2008 STR8 does not have Remote Start built in. Yes it says it has it in the manual but it is not in the car. The FOBIK does not have the X2 button, even if you get an X2 button FOBIK programmed (for your car) the internal wiring is not “complete”. This has been confirmed by Fred Garza at Fiesta Dodge in San Antonio TX. There is a mod that may make Remote Start on the 08s possible but not it has not “made it to the streets” yet!
Remote start is available for 09 Automatic only.
