Rams head on new Challenger
If Chrysler were to ask what is your preference prior to production of the 2009 Challenger, would you keep the Ram head on the nose or have it removed and replaced with DODGE?
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
neither. A challenger logo maybe.[8D]
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
D O D G E
The Ram is a truck & the logo looks great on 'em I think. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Yea I'd rather leave it blank. I think dodge needs to redesign the ram logo, make it into a D with horns or something =P
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I ain't buying a truck. Even the three-pronged Dodge insignia of old is better than a truck emblem on my Challenger.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
I think it just looks awful on cars. I know all manufacturers have have grill and hood logos, but can't dodge have something better than a ram. It's fitting on the trucks, and is even bigger than ever on the new '09, so lets have something cleaner for their cars, especially our Challenger!
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Please get rid of it! It started with the trucks and it should have stayed there. I hate it on my Magnum as well, It's everywhere, on the front (molded in), on the wheels , and the back, But it is way incorrect for the Challenger, It should be deleted, period.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Agreed, remove it.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Add my voice to the consensus. I like the Ram on my Dakota, but it just doesn't fit on a car. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Simple block letter D O D G E would be nice. Heck, they could even use the letter style that appears under the Ram logo, just could live without the ram head. Always thought it strange to see the Ram head pasted all over the Neon. Just dosn't seem quite right... |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Dodge says that it reads web sites such as dodgechallenger.com. It even has a link to it on its own web site. We have commented here that the ram's head does not belong on the Challenger. [:'(] A number of us have also posted this on dodge's blog, www.redletterdodge.com.
Why won't they listen to us? Is is because there is some corporate "big wig" who has a fixation with rams?? |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Rams conjure up in the mind pushing or pulling like what you think of in a truck.
The Challenger with the RAM logo is just not a good mix. Either put the DODGE letters back on or come up with something really cool but get rid of the RAM. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
This is a simple fix for Chrysler: All the rams heads in the existing inventory can be used on other dodge cars/trucks. GET SOME D O D G E lettering and put it on the hood AS IT SHOULD BE.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
as I look at the vote tally, while still low in count, I'm hoping that at some point Dodge listens to us loyalists, get a clue to the fact, and leave the ram off all of their cars. I just have never understood it and I sure hope they see the light that we the customers don't like it.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
is it simply glued on?
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Most insignia are applied with two-sided sticky tape these days. Hence, it should be fairly simple to remove. I'm just wondering if there's a bend in the area under the ram's head insignia or of the metal there is flat. If it's flat, it should be no trouble to substitute DODGE lettering. If there's a bend, we may have a problem.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Uh-oh ... the enlarged version of the front-end pic appears to show a bend right where the second "D" would go...

RE: Rams head on new Challenger
On the Concept if you look real close the Ram head is inset on the nose. [:-] The concave area will create a problem/hole/dip when the badge is removed. [:@] Well if the same is true on the production I'll have to have that area filled and the nose painted. Either way the Ram head goes bye bye, ASAP!!
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
Well depending on what the letters are made of maybe you could slightly bend the D to fit around the line.
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
the Ram logo belongs on trucks, SUVs, and Minivans. Come up with something new for Dodge Cars. Personally, I think Dodge should be the truck-based line and Chrysler should be the car and crossover line. Chrysler needs to slim down, simply, and focus. I'm rooting for them.

RE: Rams head on new Challenger
The return of the pentastar... may be a very fitting idea. I'm thinking I kinda like it... Hmmm...
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
It's the new Pentastar and appears on the Headquarters building.

Maybe it will fit in the same spot and has the same screw hole size.

RE: Rams head on new Challenger

RE: Rams head on new Challenger
RoswellGrey, I think there are two options screaming for aftermarket-land:
1. Complete Hood Option (so you can keep the production one unmolested) color keyed to production Mopar paint w/ the same paint that have exact same hood but w/ D-O-D-G-E 2. Poor man special kit (filler, paint, and curved letters for self application with a cardboard template (to that the letters are straight and centered Seems like a no brainer right? As far as alt insignia....Scatpack upside down "Y" (or like a triangle comprised of "Y"s), do a little marketing w/ the whole insignia upside down at first (say in a wheel hub) pan in and have it look like a "Y" then pose the question.. ? And found a cool sight while trying to recall the exact compilation or shape components to boot... www.texasacres.com/parts/emblems.html Pretty cool I think. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
That site is cool, DamnSkippy. I hadn't seen any selling used parts -- all the ones I've run across have new items. As to your options, I'm afraid we're ALL gonna have to take the "poor man special kit" after paying for the Challenger. ;)

RE: Rams head on new Challenger
True dat bruddah!
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
I am hopeing for a GO-Wing opption if no i will come up with my own ;)
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
DODGE RAM
NOT DODGE CHALLENGER RAM slap a dodge penta-star on instead of the ram. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
i wonder if they will put the penta star on the driver side fender like they did on the originals
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
I think the dodge ram is not too bad. But I think I'll put my own logo, like a dollar sign with a
laurel wreath around it, or a skull and crossed swords, or something cool like that. |
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
I hope that was a joke [:'(]
|
RE: Rams head on new Challenger
That had to be a joke! [&:]
