Personally, I would like to see the 6.4L bigger engine. Look at the comparison chart. I wouldn't mind if had an MDS engine to conserve on gas
during longs trips. The 1/4 mile would probably be in the mid 12's too. Awesome!

I think we need to keep in mind the fact that DCX can give us most anything we want but, at what cost??? It's been said time and time again here that if the price gets to high the masses will with a Ford.

Well cupholders don't add that much to the price, but I agree I would like them to first focus on price, good muscle-car power, retro design, before they worry about the other stuff. I'm afraid they are getting to concerned about adding luxury to the Dodge division. They need to quit blurring the Chrysler and Dodge divisions. They need to make Chrysler exclusively about luxury and Dodge exclusively about performance (though adding performance to Chrysler is important).

Keep hammering the 6.4L option. I would be willing to wait an additional year if I knew it was coming. Hopefully, that's the idea behind the SRT-8 model.

Sorry guys for the attachments which show the engine comparisons. If you click on it and save it to your desktop then open it with Microsoft photo editor
or something similiar you will be able to read it more clearly.

HERE HERE!
I Agree...
We need to KEEP HAMMERING on a base/spartan optioned model 5.7-Hemi V8 & solid live axle Challenger model @ the same MSRP price range of $25,000-$27,000 as the base V8 Mustang-GT model, as well as HAMMERING on a 6.4-Hemi V8 Challenger & a high-output base Challenger & base V6 models too....

This would do much more to assure the Chalenger of higher volume sales & marketing/finacial success as well as lower available MSRP price ranges through-out such a Challenger line-up.

Remember, it is better to sell 200,000 units @ $2500-$3500 profit/unit like Ford is doing with the Mustang, giving all of the customers what they want,(v6,baseV8,& hi-endV8,),at an affordable MSRP price range, versus selling say 15,000-25,000 units @ $4000-$6000 profit/unit @ higher MSRP prices of a limited production Challenger, offering only a base V6 and a high-end optioned-out 6.1/6.4-Hemi V8 R/T or SRT-8 varriant with no base/spartan 5.7-V8-Hemi/solid live axle varriant of the Challenger.

If Dodge wants to have the kind of success that Ford has had with the Mustang, then they will need to do this right by offering all the variants mentioned above...

This 6.4L engine was in a 1970 Challenger at the SEMA show.

"But when it comes to market, DCX might up the ante in SRT8 form by dropping in its latest HEMI creation, a 510+hp 6.4-liter (392 cu-in) HEMI V8 which was recently displayed at the SEMA motor show in a 1970 Challenger R/T Convertible, no less. These two combinations show that DCX is in tune with North American car enthusiasts, and as usual will most likely commit the Challenger concept, 6.4-liter HEMI upgrade or not, to production. "

This Ford vs GM vs Hemi chart shows off this new 6.4L which is expected to be a crate engine as well. Save the image then open it with something like Microsoft Photo Editor so you can read it better.
